Mini Archie's September Furtle Around The Blogosphere

Archie The Wonder Dog

It's the end of September already!  I know I start each Furtle post marvelling at how quickly the month has gone, but, really, where does the year go?!!  I feel like I've been quite productive this month (on the can-be-done-while-sitting-on-the-settee front, at least), so let's see if that bears out, eh?

There were socks:

More socks were started and almost finished:

Yarn by Made By Penguins
(You would not believe how many photos I've taken of these socks and I still can't persuade them to come out not blurry!)

And then another sock was started (because it wasn't a night for grafting but it was a night for ribbing and who am I to argue when the muse of my least favourite bit of knitting a sock comes calling?):

Yarn from Made By Penguins

And many LV blocks were made. Five, to be precise:

That poor girl seems destined to be forever parted from her head...

And the unpressed block from last month was pressed and deigned to have a picture taken of its backside. Very obliging:

Which means I now have sixteen made:

Mini Archie and Billy got some new sticks because there's been an increase in pirate activity lately:

Lefal, I finks you'll agree  *fierce face*

Linking up to the September Furtle

If you're linking up, please add a link (one per person, please) to your blog post, which could contain: a mosaic of all you've made in the month, something you've made/started/worked on, a goal which you'd like to achieve in the next month (and then in next month's post you can reflect on that goal and set yourself another one - I find this particularly handy if I'm in the midst of a big project and finding the making of hundreds of blocks to be interminable), anything crafty you'd like to share. This isn't just for sewing or quilting, but is for all crafts so if you knit, make lace, make clothes, do anything which could come under the heading of 'craft', then please link up. Please visit the link immediately before and after you and leave an encouraging comment, and more if you can manage it - we all know that comments create joy, so let's spread some around. Also, please treat all the linked posts and their authors with respect - I want this to be an inclusive space for all crafters and crafts and all are welcome. If you're not sure if you're welcome or you belong, you do - this is by no means a closed space and if you want to join, then you are most welcome. If you need help linking up, please leave a comment and I will do my best to help. Please add the Furtling button to your blog post: copy the code below and paste it into your blog post - it should then magically appear when you publish your blog post (I'll do my best to help if you have any problems) and it will help people find the Furtling page with all the details of the link up.

To link up, go to the link at the bottom of this page and click on 'link up' (it's a blue button) and then add your link (website URL), a title (this could be your blog name but could also be something interesting to draw people to it (keep it clean!) if you prefer), and your email. This last one doesn't appear on the link (I will have access to it - I won't use it unless there's a problem and I need to contact you) so don't worry that you're about to share your email address with the world (or the handful of people who find this link), you're not! The link will remain open until 13th October; if you're seeing this post after this date, I'm afraid you can't link up to the September Furtle, but you can link next month if you like.

    1. I think it's a magic settee... Good luck finishing Trixie and her clothes!! (I'm still (deludedly) wondering if I can squeeze in another finish...)

    2. We can do it! Just a little bit more time to get these done. My settee is so comfy with Kipper snuggling every night!

    3. Oh, I can imagine! It must be hard to leave that to go to your sewing machine!!

  3. I always enjoy seeing your superbly knitted socks, and while I usually buy my wools from Alice (alice_e17 on insta) I could be tempted by Made With Penguins. Perhaps I ought to finish my other knits first... I'm sure MA would pointy stick agree! ;-)
Five hand pieced blocks deserves a round of applause *applauds* The design is really starting to show now! Brava! And yes, the poor girl continually beheaded while the boy keeps his. I'm sure there's a metaphor on the times or patriarchy in there somewhere... ;-) That print reminds me of the Janet and John books from soooooo long ago. I always like Nip and Fluff best. (such imaginative names! *eyeroll*) And that's how I press, too!
*steps back* euh, yes, Mini Archie and Billy, I agree, those new sticks look lefal. Glad to see you have them pointed down.
    Hugs

    1. Thank you! I have three more pairs to knit before the end of the year and then I'm going to have to have a rest from it because my elbows are killing me - I'm going to miss mindless knitting in the half dark while I watch telly on an evening! And yes, Mini Archie says he 'absolutely New Extra Pointy Stick agrees wif you finishing the other knitting first.' I agree *glances to check Mini Archie heard me agree with him*

  5. My least favourite socky thing is the ribbing as well. I love your colours and seeing them has cheered me up after not getting a delivery of yarn I was expecting today. I'm having to shoot South to visit my poorly dad and thought some knitting would keep me sane! Love your growing block too - delicious!

    1. It feels never ending, doesn't it? I try to get it all over in one day, a bit like eating your broccoli first to get it out of the way before you leap (not literally) into your Yorkshire pudding.

I'm sorry your dad is poorly and your yarn hasn't arrived (can you stop at a shop on the way down?!) - I hope he's better soon xx
