Mini Archie's January Furtle Around The Blogosphere

Archie The Wonder Dog

Hello!  Happy New Year!  2020.  Can you believe it?!!

This month, I've made a good start on the grand sort out and tidy up of my sewing room which is my focus for the year and I've been through all my fiction books and weeded out the NotWanteds (44 of them) and rehomed them in a local charity shop.  The books which are staying have been catalogued using a web app called Libib and will, at some point, be sorted alphabetically by author (at the moment, they're organised by author but in a random fashion depending on what I can fit on each shelf).  I've weeded ALL my scrap boxes and rehomed the NotWanteds to various quilty chums around the country.  I've been through the two boxes of destash stuff I'd accumulated since my last destash and rehomed many of the items with more chums around the country (and one chum in Australia!) and have a plan for the remaining items.  Feel free to have a look at my destash account and see if you would like to rehome something.  (Prices include UK second class postage (I will post worldwide but it will cost extra), some items are up for postage only, others have a modest price.)

I've also managed some machine sewing and have...drum roll please...

Pieced all of the nine patches for my Summersville quilt!  Yes, all 50!  I'm now concentrating on trimming the embroidered blocks and then I'll set about working out the cutting plans for the background fabrics.

And I've hand pieced four LV scrappy trip blocks:

Oh, and I've written my Q1 Finish Along list. FAL is now ig-only, but I wanted a more detailed list to be able to look back on than my ig post, so I'm sticking with writing one on here.  For now, at least.

One of the aims of the grand sort out is that Mini Archie and his chums will get a proper home which is big enough for all of them and their belongings to be together.  Currently, their cosy corner is on the opposite side of the room from their sleeping quarters (which means lots of whizzing across the room on zip lines...) and it would be brilliant for them to have their own shelf. I keep hearing snippets of conversations about 'extensions' and 'dedicated stick room' and 'pirate defence watch HQ'...
We can't wait to get our new home so we is going to provide encouragement
for all the sorting and tidying. I has mine Very Pointy Stick at the ready *enfusiastic face*

Linking up to the January Furtle

If you're linking up, please add a link (one per person, please) to your blog post, which could contain: a mosaic of all you've made in the month, something you've made/started/worked on, a goal which you'd like to achieve in the next month (and then in next month's post you can reflect on that goal and set yourself another one - I find this particularly handy if I'm in the midst of a big project and finding the making of hundreds of blocks to be interminable), anything crafty you'd like to share. This isn't just for sewing or quilting, but is for all crafts so if you knit, make lace, make clothes, do anything which could come under the heading of 'craft', then please link up. Please visit the link immediately before and after you and leave an encouraging comment, and more if you can manage it - we all know that comments create joy, so let's spread some around. Also, please treat all the linked posts and their authors with respect - I want this to be an inclusive space for all crafters and crafts and all are welcome. If you're not sure if you're welcome or you belong, you do - this is by no means a closed space and if you want to join, then you are most welcome. If you need help linking up, please leave a comment and I will do my best to help. Please add the Furtling button to your blog post: copy the code below and paste it into your blog post - it should then magically appear when you publish your blog post (I'll do my best to help if you have any problems) and it will help people find the Furtling page with all the details of the link up.

To link up, go to the link at the bottom of this page and click on 'link up' (it's a blue button) and then add your link (website URL), a title (this could be your blog name but could also be something interesting to draw people to it (keep it clean!) if you prefer), and your email. This last one doesn't appear on the link (I will have access to it - I won't use it unless there's a problem and I need to contact you) so don't worry that you're about to share your email address with the world (or the handful of people who find this link), you're not! The link will remain open until 15th February; if you're seeing this post after this date, I'm afraid you can't link up to the January Furtle, but you can link next month if you like.

    1. Thank you! Mini Archie's plans for his new space are getting ever more complicated and grand, I don't think he realises how many teacayks it's going to take to pay for it all!

    2. Ah, the grand plans! Trixie keeps mumbling something along the lines of 'wardrobe' and 'dress'. Luckily Sunny just bounces along and doesn't wear anything or have a mouth. ;)

    3. I think Trixie may be chatting with Mini Archie behind our backs...

Thank goodness Sunny is undemanding, eh?!
