Winter Stitching List - the final report

Image
I haven't looked to see how I've done on my winter stitching list since I wrote my half term report but I'm desperately hoping I've made progress!  Let's face it, I could hardly have got worse...at least I hope I haven't!  I'm linking up with the lovely Sarah@Fairyface Designs so after you've read my report please go and see what other (more successful) people have done.  1 & 2 .  Add backs (cord?  Velvet?) to my knitted and crocheted squares to turn them into cushion   covers. I haven't done this as I changed my mind about making them into cushions.  I'd also forgotten that I would be getting cushions from the Brit Pillow Fight and my swap with Nicky (as well as winning a cushion from Fiona !) so I don't really need any new cushions now.  (Which is a good job as I've used the fabric I bought to back the crochet square in my hexies!) 3 .  Finish sorting my scraps.    Sorted! 4 .  Make my  B...

Thinking...

I'm finally linking up to Think Tank Thursday with Rebecca Lynne !  Oops, just realised it's actually Thursday Think Tank - I've been reading that wrong for months!!   And I'm not sure there is a TTT to link up to this week but it's taken me so long to have a post to link up that I'm leaving the button where it is! This week I've been thinking about a few things which, to be honest, is hard when you're as tired as I am at the moment.  I currently have the concentration span of a gnat and can't seem to keep hold of a thought long enough to actually think about it.  I tend to just notice it as it passes through my brain and say to myself 'That looks interesting, I hope it's still there when I come back.' and sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't.  After writing some of this post it appears I've thought more than I realised this week (well, over several weeks, if I'm being truthful!) so you may as well make yourself a...

Progress report on my Winter Stitching List

Image
Way back in October (was it really that long ago?!) I (along with many, many others!) linked up with Sarah @ Fairyface Designs to plan our winter stitching.  Now, at the time I thought I'd been fairly sensible and realistic with my plans but I somehow forgot that Christmas comes in the middle of the six months from October to March and that I'm always shattered for weeks after Christmas.  And, for those of you thinking 'what she's really saying is that she hasn't ticked many things off her list'...yes, you're completely right!  Let's just say that after a quick look a few days ago I've made myself a dunce's cap and you'll find me in the corner of the room for the foreseeable future! So, let's get on with my update humiliation shall we?! 1 & 2 .  Add backs (cord?  Velvet?) to my knitted and crocheted squares to turn them into cushion   covers. I put them in a box, does that count?!  I also bought a striped fabric for the back o...

My winter stitching plans

Image
I know, I'm posting twice in twenty four hours...unheard of!  (And it's probably never going to happen again!) After reading some of the summer sewing round up posts and hearing that Sarah@Fairyface Designs was planning a winter version I decided it might be just the thing for me - I love lists as they always make me feel organised and stop ideas whizzing round in my head.  I'm afraid that some of my plans are a little woolly as I usually find Christmas exhausting and as I'm going through a bit of a bad patch at the moment I have no idea how much stitching I'll be able to do.  (For those of you who are new to my blog...I have ME/CFS and am unable to work due to the condition - sewing keeps me sane (ish) but I can't do as much as I would like due to my low energy levels, etc.)   So, here's my slightly woolly and fuzzy winter stitching list (in no particular order!): 1 & 2 .  Add backs (cord?  Velvet?) to my knitted and crocheted squares to tu...
