Mini Archie’s June Furtle Around The Blogosphere

Image
Furtle (v): to have a rummage or delve into the contents of something It’s a good job I have a secret finish from last month to show you because otherwise my contribution to this Furtle would be the link to join in and nothing else! Not only did I forget to review my mini objectives in last month’s post, I also forgot to set new ones*. As it turns out, that matters not a jot! I have higher hopes for July, but it’s very much weather dependent as if we have yet another heatwave I shall likely be as successful as this month.  In May I realised that if I got a shift on, I could make something I’ve been meaning to make for a while in time for the birthday of the friend it was for and the thing which was stopping me suddenly became clear: make it as a Christmas tree decoration. What’s the something? This pattern by Laura Howard  (she also has a blog, Bugs and Fishes ) which is designed as a decorative embroidery hoop but that wasn’t something I could see fitting in my friend'...

FAL Finish: Hardanger Pennants

Back in July, I put this (very boring) photo on my FAL list (and again in October, on my Q4 2015 FAL list ): That was all I could show as it was a surprise make for a friend, I couldn't even show the pattern, just in case she knew I had a blog (I don't think she does but...) and stumbled across the photo!  I've failed to take a photo of the pattern (by Emie Bishop) and have since given it back to (a different) friend but you can see it here  (in case you fancy making your own). I'm going to make this a photo-heavy post so you can see what I've been up to while I've been away.  I don't really want to go into why I've been away but I do want to say thank you for all the lovely emails, cards and presents you've sent (you know who you are!) and to send you all a hug for the friendship, love and support you've given me.  It's very much appreciated - I love this community of ours and am so thankful and grateful to be a very small part of it.   I made a (very quick!) baby quilt: I channelled my inner Lynne and quilted a grid - I love it! I've also made a bedding set for my niece's Christmas present (a pram).  Here's Panda trying out the blanket, mattress and pillow: and here he is trying out the whole set! He wasn't pleased when he realised I was serious about it not being for him. I'm particularly fond of the dolly quilt (made with 'Rain' from the wonderful Si...
