FAL Finish: Honey Cowl

2015 FAL at On the Windy Side

I had two knitted items on my Q4 2015 FAL list, one was the lace wrap, and one was a honey cowl (a free pattern) for Jan, using cashmerino aran in (something like) drake.  Here's how it looked at the start of the quarter:

Honey cowl
Doesn't look like much, does it?!
I managed to remember to take a few progress photos:

Just past halfway
About halfway

Off the needles!

I don't seem to have taken a photo of it once it was blocked, though. It didn't look much different, but the stitches evened out and had a nice texture to them.

It was a really simple (and quick) knit and I imagine it will be quite warm.

Cowl stats
Pattern: Honey cowl
Yarn: Cashmerino aran, 2x50g (had 9g left)
Other: cast on 106sts, omitted garter stitch rowsat the top and bottom, used a felted join.

I'd definitely knit one of these again and I'd be thrilled to knit with the cashmerino aran again, it's gorgeous!

Archie was miffed that I didn't include one of his alternative 'door stop' poses in my last post, so here it is:

I'd buy me if I were a door stop...

Time's running out to link up your Q4 FAL finishes with Adrianne (I know, because I'm cutting it fine myself!), so get yourself over there and add your finishes while you still can!  Then you can start thinking about your Q1 2016 FAL list - the link will open on 7th January.  Don't worry, all the hosts will be blogging about it so you shouldn't miss your chance to join in!

Thanks for popping in!

  2. Wow, you are in finishing mode. Congratulations on yet another lovely project. I love cowls, with short hair I need something to stop the draft.

  4. Oh, Archie you are over the top a cutie pie. Now, all you need to complete that pose is a lovely hand knitted scarf.
